Renaissance Rocker Woman – Stacey Wells returned to the Sunset Strip Music Fest 2012 but she didn’t bring a guitar, not even an amp. RockStar Reflections returned to a bigger space for SSMF 2012, arriving at an address on the Sunset Strip usually filled with Exotic Cars. But the Royce’s rolled for the Rockers.

Serengeti

ROCK THERAPY: NO ROOM FOR GETI
By The Reverend Wayne Coomers

“I had five feet of room to move in up there,” Serengeti explained to me with contained disconsolation after his opening stint for Why? at The Blue Note last night in Columbia, Missouri. I’m not sure I actually asked a question—I think he read the concern on my face.

Muncie Girls

Muncie Girls “Revolution Summer”
Specialist Subject Records (release date 10th Sept 2012)
By Rich Cocksedge (SugarBuzz UK)

Muncie Girls, hailing from Exeter, UK has basically come up with the formula for putting together the perfect record.  Well, for me that is the result of having listened to “Revolution Summer” for more times than I care to count.  On the bands debut EP, there were hints of greatness, most of which boiled down to the track “Phantom Limb” but here the band has managed to push things to a new level, one that I doubt even the most ardent fan could imagine they would reach.

One of the highlights of this year’s 2012 Sunset Strip Music Festival was most definitely a local LA band called The Vim Dicta. (Where’d you get that name??! We asked that.)  We got the chance to chit chat with this amazing trio and get their impressions of this 8-stage, 59-band, 9-Food Truck, 10K fan tribal gathering a day or so afterwards.

Cruefest Hollywood ~ 2012

Cruefest Hollywood 2012
Whisky a Go-Go
Hollywood, CA
By Lucky (SugarBuzz Hollywood)

Just when you thought it was safe to venture back to the Sunset Strip, degenerate rockers from destinations unknown blew into town for their yearly ritual of debauchery and diabolic acts.  Yeah, they get wild, and they get crazy, acting all lewd and irresponsible, when all the while they are secretly raising money to fight children’s cancer.
