Just down the road from where the Beatles first blasted their way onto the rock n roll scene all those years ago, lies a small venue called the Barfly. And just like the Fab Four did, these ‘new kids’ on the block rocked the place to it’s very foundations.

It’s not that often that I get excited about a gig these days, I mean, there’s so much mediocrity around, right? But tonight, it’s so far removed from that. Tonight, I’m gonna witness the re-birth of true rock n roll! Yeah, I know, people will go…’yeah, whatever…everyone says that…’, but in the case of a quartet of Liverpool based rockers called ‘Bad Precedent’, it’s the truth! These guys play from the heart.

Four bands into the evening, and a packed out house, we’re ready to hear the mighty ‘Precedent’ hammer out their first number Lucidity to rapturous applause and cheers, they are going down a storm! But, be perfectly clear on this…it ain’t no ‘storm in a tea cup’, this is pure, rock n roll, just as god would have planned it!! Fuck Yeah!!

Frontman/Guitarist James Suffield and Lead Guitarist, Ian ‘Jono’ Johnson completely own that stage and they work it like a pair of Times Square hookers…..each knowing what the other is doing next, it comes so naturally. But, having a great axe combo is worth shit if it ain’t backed up by the beat, and in this case Lee Jones on Bass matches Dave Hall on the sticks in a perfect beat-for-beat section.

The crowd go wild for more and they don’t fail to deliver, over and over again…pure delight! The record companies are gonna be falling over themselves to sign them, that’s for sure. Check them out at www.myspace.com/badprecedent, and see for yourselves, ok?
