Well another brutal fuck me very much week at the salt mines had ended and the need to bust out and raise some hell was strong with this one. Of course no other place draws me like a moth to the flame than my old haunts on The Sunset Strip. Flying solo enhances the experience as I can cum and go as I please.

What was even better is that some of my Hollywood homeboys were going to let all hell loose on the A Go-Go stage and damn it I was ready to have my face melted. I am talking about none other than Blacklist Union, a real deal rock and roll outfit.

Of course a start of 11:30pm allowed for some needed leisure time, which was greatly relished at The Cat Club and, where else, The Rainbow Bar and Grill. Yeah they still pour them strong at The Bow, and things were in full swing. I even had the pleasure of hanging out with Rachael whom some of you may know is the drummer for the kick ass rock group Cockpit. Talk to you soon girl! And of course spinning the tunes was none other than DJ Eric ILL. Love ya fucker.

Feeling a lot looser than upon arrival, I swaggered down the Strip and poured myself into The Whisky for show time.

Blasting out the title track of their upcoming new fucking CD (scheduled to be released April 17, 2008); Blacklist Union blew us all away with a non stop roller rock fuck me called “Breaking Bread with the Devil”. Holy fucking shit, if this is what the new CD has in store for us, I want an advance copy now!

Seems we were in store for a preview night as it were, as new Blacklist Union cuts were served up in heaping helpings. “Feel Me” was on one these I do believe. Tight and taught, the ground surely began to shake.

From the first Blacklist Union CD, we got to get edgy with “Another World”. Drilled into our psyche, tales of the view and things in store therein came our way. Nice guitar vibe from the mohawked lead axe madman Carmine D’Amico. Riled and rocking, his chops ruled.

Rockstar personified, Tony West, has the stance, the attitude, the look, and most importantly, the pipes to propel Blacklist Union into the pantheon of rock and rolls elite. And no wonder with tracks like “Wicked Love Song”. Bad boy and non-apologetic.

Like street bullies looking for a fight, Blacklist Union let loose “After the Morning” and the loyalist took note that the newly revamped band was making its mark. Danny Gunn plummeted while the thunderous pound of Sean Davidson reverberated. Sean has a cool set up with one bass drum and tom tom’s sideways, that he goes at full throttle while assuming a semi standing position. I like drummers with high energy and Sean has it in excess. Never enough.

And speaking of never enough, that was the feeling the crowd was getting as Blacklist headed towards the end of a “leave them wanting more” set with “Cum Inside”. Guitarist Nicky Shad was getting an incredible and I must say surprising tone from his white Epiphone Les Paul. However tuning troubles seemed to plague him a bit. Funny how guitarists, when on stage, are so aware, and the audience is clueless. It sounded sweet to me. Close enough for rock and roll.

The crash crash crash of Sean’s cymbals signaled the onset of “Please Kill Me” a from the heart classic that most everyone can relate to. Slinging from the hip, the song has a addictive groove, soaring lead guitar work, and wicked lyrics.

Blacklist Union truly qualifies as rock and roll survivors, enduring rip offs, drug troubles, member change ups, and backstabbing haters. Typical of the music scene here in Hollywood, only real rock champions endure.

Hold your breath America. April 17 is going to be a day that will go down in famy!
