After 2 years of painful waiting, finally it was time for a HIM concert again! Two years can be an awful damn long time … and therefore we started our trip to Mr. Valo-town at 6 ’clock in the morning! After two hours of sleep the four hours in the train were a bit hard but with the vision of seeing one of our favourite bands time went by. We arrived in Vienna at around 11:00. Now we only had to find the right underground connections and after a while we found ourselves in front of the Gasometer! And it was 11:30! That was by far our earliest arrival at a concert location. But hey, better arriving early and waiting long than arriving too late, right?

Because we had to wait for some friends we decided to drink something, smoke some cigarettes and observe the Gasometer, who knows, maybe Ville needs some apples or some toothpaste.

After about one hour our friends arrived and now the boozy session could begin. We went behind the Gasometer at the place where the tour buses always park and there we sat down in a circle and had a good time with Eristoff and later also with our beloved Jägermeister.

We must have seemed very nice and likeable because the securities came to us all the time and talked and smiled. Maybe also the huge amount of empty Eristoff bottles and the Jägermeister were the reason. But I want to mention here – WE ARE NO ALCOHOLICS!

The only person who joined us was a crazy and funny grandma who, as a security man told us, stands there at every single concert and collects autographs to sell them at ebay!!! Now I know what I’ll do in my pension!!

Anyways, after waiting about 5 hours a rowdy came to us and started talking (his first words were “ohh … jägermeister!” ). He started telling us stories about his wedding where rockers, bikers and rowdies seemed to have a damn good time and now we know what “Flying Hirsch” (Red Bull + Jägermeister) is called in Finland, “Jäger Bombs”!! Good to know!!!

Anyhow, we asked him if the guys were already in the Gasometer and he told us that they’ll come briefly before the beginning of the concert , waiting was for nothing but we had a blast. Thanks to all the girls!!! And of course to the securities!

After we got this information , we decided to go to the entrance to queue up and wait for admission, and after another 2 hours the entry gate opened. Unfortunately we had to wait for a friend who had our tickets so we had to leave our place in the second row and wait and wait and see all the guys entering the concert hall , it was quite hard and I was shortly before exploding.

When we finally went into the concert hall there were already many people in the front so we stood somewhere on the left side in the middle!

At 8 o’clock the support band, Paradise Lost entered the stage. I have to say, I didn’t know any of their songs, and therefore I can’t really say something about their gig.

I mean, they didn’t blow me away, but I liked the music. I didn’t like the singer, not the singer himself, but the way how he sang. But the music, the sound was really good!

They played 45 minutes and then followed the longest rebuilding time I’ve ever experienced at a concert. But finally the light was turned off and the HIM guys entered the stage!

Ville was the last one and as he came on stage the crowd was going crazy!! The mood was damn fucking great and they started an awesome gig with “Passions Killing Floor”.

Later in the set, as they started to play “Join Me” the crowd was going out of control!!! After the first chimes of the song the audience screamed like the devil in person would haunt them and during the whole song, every single creature in that fucking hall sang along and made those 3 minutes to a really unforgettable experience.

Another highlight was the last song “Funeral of Hearts”! The song started really slow and emotional, only Ville was singing without instruments. And then there was this awesome mirror ball who reflected the lights onto the walls and the ceiling which created an unbelievable great atmosphere. It was simply overwhelming.

Unfortunately they only played 15 songs, because Ville was having problems with his asthma. It was a pity but understandable.

During the show Ville was in such a great mood that it was a pleasure to watch him. It was so great to see him smiling and fooling around with Mige. He also talked a lot with the audience and made fun with us. It was obvious that he had a great time.

Seeing Ville in such a genial mood made our evening perfect and we are so looking forward to the next HIM show! Hopefully it won’t last 2 years again to see them!!

After the concert we went to the merch and bought a necklace and some posters which should remember us of this awesome night!! Furthermore, we have to support the guys a bit, don’t we?

All in all it was an overwhelming concert and everybody, really EVERYBODY should see at least one HIM concert in his fucking life. That’s not an advice, that’s a command! Nobody will regret it!
