I proudly present to you Mr Kai Blackwood and the Tokyo Death Squad from from New Haven, Connecticut, USA .
His New album In From The Dark Side is HUGE! From the first song to the very last, there is not one song that does not grab my attention, and with some of the music that is being produced today that is very rare indeed.
"Bring out the Dead" is the first song from this 8 track collection and is a perfect number to get the ball rolling. It has all the ingredients for a great track. Great vocalist, catchy lyrics, and great over all musicianship. If this song doesn’t get you in a mood to rock then nothing will.
The songs get better as the album goes on and probably two of my favourites would have to be track three and four “Space Hammer” and “Apologies Make Lousy Parachutes”. The lyrics are awesome, and his band really works well together to deliver some great, well thought out songs.
The album slows down just a tad on track five “Silvertones”. The song brings out a bluesy/jazzing side of Kai that we do not get to hear all that often.
The album ends with the song "Better" and what a fitting ending to what has been an enjoyable listening experience. This album will leave you breathless, there is so much raw energy and talent within this band and also Kai himself that I see great things for the future.
Kai ain’t going anywhere fast, he will be one of those artist that sticks around for a while and for me I say that’s a blood good thing. We need more talent like Kai in the music industry and less of the artist who wouldn’t know how to string a song together.
