When someone thinks of Mick Jagger, one of the first things that probably come to mind is that Mick is, and always will be a rock and roll legend of all time. Mick's songwriting and singing expertise leave nothing to the imagination. He is without a doubt, a phenomenal artist. At age 64, Mick is still going strong, with no hint of retirement in his future.

On October 2, 2007, Mick Jagger released a new 17 track album entitled, "The Very Best Of Mick Jagger". The album goes back in time to thirty years ago and travels through time until today. What way to travel. The tracks all commemorate Mick's growth as an artist, husband, father, songwriter and musician.

"The Very Best Of Mick Jagger", released by Atlantic/Rhino records is a compilation of all four of Mick's solo albums and three previously unreleased tracks. Ten songs are taken from the albums starting with 1985's "She's the Boss", 1987's "Primitive Cool", 1993's "Wandering Spirit", and the 2001, "Goddess in the Doorway."

"Memo from Turner" was a soundtrack song from the 1970's movie, "Performance" which Mick also starred in. Reggae star Peter Tosh teamed up with Jagger for the Temptation hit, "You Got To Walk And Don't Look Back" which was written by Smokey Robinson and Ronald White. Mick and David Bowie also performed another duet,"Dancing in the Street."

"God Gave Me Everything" was co-written by Lenny Kravitz and "Joy" was graced with Bono's guest vocal appearance. "Too Many Cooks Spoil the Soup" was produced by John Lennon in 1973. The band consisted of guitarists Jesse Ed Davis, Danny Kortchmar, bassist, keyboardist Al Kooper and drummer, Jim Keltner.

The set also contains two demos from Jagger's "Wandering Spirit" solo album. "Checking Up On My Baby" which was a cover of Sonny Boy Williamson and "Charmed Life" with Jagger's daughter Karis on backing vocals.

"The Very Best Of Mick" is a superb collection of a wide range of musical genres from rock and roll, reggae, blues, dance music and ballads. Mick Jagger shines through in body, mind and spirit throughout this masterpiece. This album should be embraced by everyone, not just Jagger fans.
