And so this is Christmas.

The Mulhollands did the year up right with a last blast at Club Moscow, Wednesday’s club to rock at Boardner’s, a week before Xmas. This is a well-loved gig for the Mulls who once again played to a packed house with more patterned stockings than a Guatemalan wedding.

It’s been a great year for The Mulhollands. Just back from an East Coast tour that brought them more fans and attention. Rated in the Top 100 of Unsigned Bands in Music Connection Magazine and a nom for Best Pop Band. And last week, an on-air interview with TK on Moheak Radio. (Love that guy!) Woo hoo! Totally on the brink.

This drizzly California winter night did not keep the keep the kids from rocking around the Christmas tree. Not in Hollywood! Looking better than ever (adorable outfits!!) and tight like a band that has been playing together so much they are ready to kill each other, the Mulhollands took the stage near midnight for a shorty set. Playing rock and roll with a jangly punk power pop spin, glammed up and blown out with expert musicianship and great songs. What else could you ask Santa for?

Lead singer Sarah Jeanette commands the mic with grace and power that exceeds her petite self. In other words; little girl with big time woman power! Think Chrissie Hynde meets Debbie Harry with a touch of Katy Perry.

The rest of the band is like this; Jeff Mizushima is an Elvis Costello-clone on a subtle and strong bass. Murray Foretich and Matt Fuller play dueling guitars that echo the sync of the Allman Bros that fly off on swirling psychedelic solos. Cutie pie, Rich Berardi bangs the drum not slowly at all. Tonight, guitar demi-god, Matt Fuller was playing a abalone-inlay guitar that would give General Patton’s pearl-handled side arms a run for their money. Very Pretty!!. Is that thing new?

Closing with big thanks to the fans and friends and a cover of Blondie’s “Call Me” with a slick rock treatment. The crowd pogo’ed, yipped and yelled. So flipping happy.

Check out the new CD “Oh My!” for more Mulhollands merriment. It’s on iTunes just like the Beatles.
