Like holding back wild horses at the starting gate, Revenge Of The Psychotronic Man gives its listeners the impression that they are on a steady keel--for just a split second. Suddenly with the strike of the first chords, these songs explode, one by one, into a blaze of fixed, hard-stroking guitars, jumping faithfully into a memorable chorus.

Their song, “Alcohol Is Not A Drug,” is a perfect example of this. Rules for the listener to live by--to never drop their guard. Starting unsuspected with plunky reggae, staccato high-speed scratch-guitar chords, all at once, gives the lead vocalist, Andy, the fuel to blast out stinging baritoned lyrics. “I tried to make a difference, that's more than I can say for you, I tried to fuck the system, but then the system fucks with you, I don't care what you think of me, but you care what I think of you, I've never tried to justify the stupid things that I still do," is cleverly derived from impromptu disgust.

Gang vocals from the Shitty Zombie Hoard crew, clearly identifies every song, and even with missing the beginning chorus, nails it in the end. For heavy thrashing purposes, a smidgeon of snottiness is extended with switched middle-rhythms to demonic fury. Leap-frog, vocal-rounds from Andy, Dave and Liam adorn baby-squealed guitars--like horse whinnies that add affect. “Rita, Sue and Bob Too” jumps from a 50’s punk rock spin off to a full throttle stampede mowing down notes with perfect amounts of layering vocals, bassed-riffs, drums and chords that slows down to the finish line with a purposeful half-guttural yowl-choke.

All bets are off in thinking this isn’t roots punk where at the moment of their finest glory, listeners can bet this CD is a definite winner.
