Images of ill blinking fluorescent signs crackling and buzzing, invitations to discover Girls, Girls, Girls, steam rising out of sewers and a lone figure blowing his saxophone in the shadows of an alleyway; probably will paint images of New York City of yesteryear in most individual’s craniums. Time’s Square today is Disneyland; the edge long drawn out of it by some political vampire!

Well now we have a new contender on the block to breathe back some life into the city that never sleeps. In the left corner with the black hair, guitar slung low is Steve Conte and his band …..The Crazy Truth.

Steve Conte currently with the New York Dolls (the list of musicians this man has played with is endless) breaks out with his own band and stomps his footprints all over this release. Much like “The Contes” releases Steve proves he can up the ante, create a balls out rocker and still manage to form well crafted songs. Raring to go from the first track –“This end” Conte and the Crazy Truth take you around NYC in a yellow cab and they pay the fare while your lay back and enjoy the ride. Lee Kostrinsky lays down the foundation with Phil Stewart keeping the rhythm and Steve plying his trade as the master craftsman. In turn creating images of a well placed microphone in the middle of the room, the tape rolling and this three piece getting down to business playing live off the floor. These cats purr one minute and are ready to pounce the next.
Nothing predictable, always sincere and ready to deliver.

Calling all Dolls fanatics-David Johansen guests on this release blowing on the mouth harp.

NYC in a 120 mm diameter disc!
