Are you comfortable in the studio?

"No. I like recording demos. They are more relaxed. Jack told me I have the age-old problem of "Demo Love." It's more spontaneous when you are doing demos. You always think on a vocal track, 'I could have done it better.' I like to do just one or two takes. After that you are thinking too much. I don't mind leaving clunkers in there as long as they're good ones. That’s what gives it personality. I totally believe in clunkers.

"'I always do a record like it's my last record, 'cause it might be. The only people missing were Lemmy and Slash. I saved his (Slash's) messages. He was in the studio with Ray Charles (working on Genius Loves Company). He left me a message 'I'm so sorry I was busy but it sounds like you don't really need me on it." I'm gonna put that on the reissue!

"And with Lemmy, he said 'I could kick myself in the ass for not being on your record.' So I gotta make another record to get Lemmy on there."

What about the radio?

"They are playing my song on Indie 103. It was great to hear Mr. Shovel (Mike Sovel) call and say 'this is what Courtney Love wishes she sounded like'" What I love about the Internet is no censorship. At least for now."

Paranoia, big destroyer. Anything else?

'This is the best pie in the world!!!" (Denny's French Chocolate Silk Pie-more giggles). "I love LA. Originally from Austin, but it was too small. My dream is to be at the top of the Underground. Make a modest living, take care of my self, my fans and my friends. I try not to think of music as a business."

As for the marketing and merchandise

"I tell fans 'make your own t shirts!" and 'bring a tape machine and record the show!"

"God damn fans! I love 'em to death."

Don't mess with Texas.
