1. Please tell me something about the foundation of Malice in Wonderland. For example where did you got to know each other? And why you have chosen MIW as band name?

Chris Wicked: Today the band consist of Tommi Gun (drums), Andy Valentine (guitars), Tracy Loveless (guitars), Eric Black (bass) and Chris Wicked (vocals). The band was founded by Eric Black, Rikki Foxx and myself - Chris Wicked - back in `97, when the three of us went to school together. Rikki moved to Germany last autumn, but plays guitar on the album. Eric and myself are still in the band.

We`ve had a lot of other people with us during the years but in 2000 we met our drummer Tommi Gunn at an infamous party here in Bergen and he`s been with us since. Andy Valentine made the cover art for our previous EP "Sin & Decadence" and joined the band in the beginning of 2003, while Tracy Loveless who played with Andy in another band replaced Rikki last summer.

The idea for this ban started in `96 and the name - Malice in Wonderland - also came up around that time. We think the name is quite catchy and interesting, a name that is easy to remember and suits the band well. And we love the pun!

2. Describe your band in a few words for the people who don`t know your music and style, please.

Chris Wicked: It`s basically dark, melodic, glamorous, with inspiration from metal and pop, goth and glam.

3.It would be very nice of you if you could in a few sentences to us what the songs "Red Rose Suicide" and the song "Lucifers Town" are about.

Chris Wicked: I don`t like talk that much about our lyrics, `cause it kind of takes away some of the mystery from the songs. I experience that people often have different interpretations about the songs and the meanings of them, and I think thats good. People should make up their own mind. It keeps it more interesting.

4.Tell me something about the making of the album and how long it took to finish it as well as where you write your songs. Do you need special places for getting good ideas?

Chris Wicked: We recorded the drums and most of the guitars in a Bergen based studio called Lydriket, while the rest of the album was recorded in Andy Valentine`s home studio. It took a bit longer than we expected, but we wanted to be perfect. It took nearly a year from we stared the recording till we ended the whole process.

When it comes to writing songs, the melodies usually come to me. Later on I sit down by my piano and work it out. I don`t need special places for getting good ideas; it can be whenever, wherever.

5. Have you already plans for releasing singles, too? And if so which song could be the first single?

Chris Wicked: There will be no single release at the moment, but there`s been made a video for the song "Lucifers Town" and this is also the song the radio stations will get. The song has already been played a bit on Norwegian radio.

6. Which bands do you like to tour with most and why? Please feel free to let us know some names.

Chris Wicked: I think there are a lot of bands we would like to tour with and I also think that our type of music could work very well with many different bands in different styles. The coolest band to tour with would be probably Motley Crue! Don`t think that`s going to happen though;-)

7.How important is fan-contact for you?

Chris Wicked: It`s very important for us! We love our fans and we want them to know it! Of course it`s hard to have contact with everybody, but we love to meet them when we`re playing and so on...

8. Would you ever like to make a soundtrack for a film? And if so which kind of film it should/must be?

Chris Wicked: Yes, that would be great! Maybe a David Lynch film, but I think our music would fit in many types of movies. Hope we get the chance someday!

9. What do you think was the most fantastic reunion that took place in the last few years?

Chris Wicked: Motley Crue! He, he of course, I saw them in June and it was amazing!

10. Last but not least... Please send a message to all your fans in Germany!

Chris Wicked: Want to send a big "THANK YOU" to everybody that supports us and are checking out our album! Means a lot! Hope we can make it to Germany sometime soon! Rock on people!!

Thank you bunches for letting me ask you these questions. Wish you good luck for all your future plans, tons of success and hope we can meet some time, too.

Thank you very much for this interview, Susi. Thanks for your endless support! Cheers!:-)
