8. What’s the music scene like in your city?

Lowell: The scene goes through changes, lots of bands, lots of people putting on shows, but very few “good” bands, like us.

Marlin: I’m not so sure there is a scene. There are definitely more bands than ever, I don’t feel a sense of community, so many crappy bands, I’m almost embarrassed for them. I mean you should be at least bearable before you step on a stage.

9. What artist or artists have done the most for rock music?

Lowell: AC/DC, KISS, Alice Cooper, and the Ramones.

Marlin: Ramones, Deadboys, the Coop.

10. Meat or Vegetables?

Lowell: Meat!

Marlin: Meat, but if I had to kill it, I’d go with vegetables.

11. Were do you want Plastic Bastard to be in 3 years?

Lowell: Touring non-stop throughout North America and Europe.

Marlin: Being able to tour without sleeping on floors, starving, I’m too old for that shit. Having the band being able to pay for itself.

12. Were was your CD “Across The Street From Me” recorded and what was the best and worst experience while there?

Lowell: It was recorded in Brad Drozda’s basement and the best thing would have to be that I have recorded there before so I went in knowing what to expect. The worst thing would have to be my bass was DI’d so the sound isn’t the same as my live sound.

Marlin: We’ve improved so much as a band, we actually have a sound now. Brad was an original Bastard so he knows what we sound like. Worst experience… I wish we would have spent a bit more time on things.

13. Any shows coming up you would like your fans to know about?

Lowell: We are opening for Canadian Icons ANVIL on the 22nd of April at the Gaslight Saloon.

Marlin: I didn’t know we had fans… Tonight we’re playing an alternative festival, hosted by the cast of Fubar, we’re playing with quiet riot in April. Summerfest with Twisted Sister, and Whitesnake. (that’s early August in Manitoba) not sure why we get all these 80’s metal shows. Just check out our myspace page, we keep that up to date.

14. If you could have one endorsement, what would it be?

Lowell: GIBSON

Marlin: I always thought having them fancy custom picks that KISS throw out would be cool.

15. Have you guys toured much, or just played local?

Lowell: We have played locally for the most part, which included a 7 day tour of our hometown. We played 7 clubs in 7 days with 14 different bands. We also played in Moose jaw the other night (45 mins away).

Marlin: We’re just starting to play out. Haven’t left western Canada…yet.

16. Creature Of The Black Lagoon or Swamp Thing?

Lowell: Dolemite

Marlin: Creature of the Black Lagoon for sure.

17. Any last word to your fans and SugarBuzz readers?

Lowell: If you don’t have our album there is something wrong with your brain, you might be retarded.

Marlin: We’re just a band from Saskatchewan, trying to be heard, check us out.

And you can do just that at www.plasticbastard.com or on myspace at www.myspace.com/plasticbastard
