Holy crap! The mansion on the hill is over run with Tobacco Hornworms. I kept seeing these black droppings on the front porch under the Jasmine type vines that go up the porch posts. Ok fuckers. Here we go. You do not want to miss this. This past Sunday I had the pleasure of interviewing The Wildhearts back stage at The Key Club in Hollywood prior to their show that night. It was one of the highlights of my years with SugarBuzz Magazine. As soon as the interview ended, I received a phone call stating that the out of control Canyon Country fire was just about to lay waste to the "Mansion on the Hill." I just got the news that yesterday, Wayne Rannelli (SugarBuzz NYC) died. The entire SugarBuzz family is in shock. What a great writer and true friend this man was. You just never know. Just this past Monday, Wayne and I emailed back and forth, I was excited because Wayne had sent me a copy of Punk Magazine (that he also wrote for) and a CD from his favorite band, The Bullys. Wayne was excited because he was in the process of writing more really great stuff for us and Punk Magazine. He loved it. Welcome to the first day of summer here in beautiful Southern California. To kick it off let's check out Victoria's look at W.A.S.P, live at The Key Club. I can't believe that this was the first time Victoria has seen W.A.S.P. Seems odd to me because I use to go see W.A.S.P. all the time way back in the real early 80's at The Troubadour. Back then Blackie, Chris and the boys use to throw raw meat at the audience. I am talking huge steaks. I remember one time I hurled one back and nailed the drummer, just missing Blackie. Also if you run into me, ask me about my Blackie bathroom encounter I had at The Troubadour right before they did a weekend stint to raise blood for the Red Cross. Those were the days!

So how did your holiday weekend go???? Mine was the best ever and I am still celebrating all this week just for the hell of it!!! But despite the party, I have updates!!!! In the "Uncensored" section you will find 2 new nuggets. Lynda covers four, count em, four acts in one review. Entitled "A little bit of this... A little bit of that..." it covers The Penny Royals, Amber Hope Randall, Planet Of Women and The UV's. And Mr. Duda is back with a review of Gimme Some Action by The Ramrods. This collection of classic Ramrods cuts from the 70's is kicking. (Guess this story should have been in the Way Back Machine section, but for reasons know only to my derranged mental state, it is found in "Uncensored").

Now as some of you may know...DBK is a behind the scenes guy here at The Shug who helps me out when I screw up the web stuff. It's Thursday and I feel like shit. I think I got the fever pa! Still I endeavor to persevere and have added Victoria's rocking book signing review of Pamela Des Barres. Her book "I'm With The Band" has been re-issued and Pamela was at Book Soup in Hollywood to celebrate. Now if you have not read this book, I strongly suggest you get your hands on a copy. I still have mine that I bought in the early 90's, I do believe, and it is a keeper! I have also added an interview by Susi. This time she chats with Carsten whom is the drummer for Face Down Hero. Remember folks, English is a second language for both Susi and Carsten and I think they both have done a great job! Keep rocking....

Some sad news just came into the SugarBuzz office. My long time best friend and former band mate Wayne Larson has lost his mother due to Cancer. This woman was truly a saint. In the 1980's our band The Metal Dogs would practice for hours every day in her garage and she never complained once. God Bless You Mrs. Larson! Wayne, a top notch drummer, was my band mate in The Metal Dogs and also Precious Metal. The Metal Dogs went down in infamy for being the band that incited the riot at Willie Bass's (Black Sheep) North Hollywood Studio. That was an insane frickin night concluding with a guy being murdered right in front of us. That was also the night that I met Tissa, the runaway street prostitute. Boy I could write a book! Hang in there Wayne..... I Love You Bro!!!!!

Shit! Good news is that Friday is my LAST day at my second job! Quit...had it...going back to having a life, going to clubs and writing more and more for you SugarBuzz fans to read. I have postponed the Mardi Gras.bb story...willl be up soon I swear!!!! Scored my tickets to the New York Dolls show on Sept. 30. That should be fun...........Some new writers are in the works for their debut here at SugarBuzz...stay tuned for that........Hey..also heard from Tracy Stevens, co founder and former editor here at SugarBuzz. Boy do I have respect for web masters world wide. Cleaning up Shug has really been an ordeal for me. I spent 8 hours yesterday working on it and have just finished another 6 hours today. I still have lot's to do. Missing links and pictures still need to be replaced. Stories need to be added and some are going to go to the trashcan. So bear with me folks. This is an on going labor of love. This weekend I am going to crash hard. I will be back working on the site on Monday. Have a great weekend and keep rocking.
